CBD OIL FAQ + Answers

What is CBD?

This is our #1 CBD FAQ. CBD is cannabidiol, a non-psychoactive compound and the second most abundant cannabinoid found in the cannabis plant.

What is the best way to take CBD?

There are several ways you can take CBD and the ‘best’ way depends on a few factors such as your intentions and your preferences. Some delivery methods have an immediate effect while others have a slower, longer release. The following four methods are the most popular:

Sublingual (drops, oil, spray, tincture, etc.) Put a few drops under your tongue and hold it for up to a minute. Then swish around with a little water and swallow.

Oral (edibles, capsules, etc.) This is good but sometimes effectiveness get worn out by the digestive tract.

Inhalation (Vaporizer, smoking, etc.) This is one of the fastest way but also it leaves your body the fastest as well.

Topical (lotions, balms, etc.) Of course this means applied to the skin.

Suppository (lotions, balms, etc.) Don’t make that weird face haha. You know it makes sense. Might not be fun but the anus is very absorbent. #Enjoy

IV (intravenous, needles) By Far the most effective way as it goes directly into your bloodstream, but OBVIOUSLY not recommended and it certainly is not a party.

Sublingual intake method with tinctures and oils are proving to be a favorite among users due to their precision (easy to measure the dosage), rapid effect and the ability to view lab reports to ensure quality CBD products.

What is CBD oil?

This is the term used to describe a sublingual tincture of the CBD cannabinoid. To make the tincture, an extract of CBD is mixed with a base oil. For optimum results, the oil or tincture should be placed and held beneath the tongue. From there, the cannabinoid is swiftly absorbed into the blood stream. Although this is an efficient way to absorb CBD oil, it can be added to foods, drinks, and can be administered via capsules and suppositories as well.

What are terpenes?

Terpenes are essential oils found in the majority of the plants within the plant kingdom. Within cannabis there are roughly 200 terpenes. Have you ever enjoyed the scent of a jasmine as you walked by a vine growing on a garden gate? Or smiled at the fresh scent of lemongrass? This is thanks to terpenes. Terpenes provide a plant its aroma and flavor. Terpenes and cannabinoids work together synergistically, creating a network of beneficial effects.

Can I give my pet CBD?

Yes, pets will receive most of the same benefits as humans do. Although it is safe to use for pets, remember that the dosage needs to be much smaller. This is because some domestic pets, such as canines, have more cannabinoid receptors in the brain which in turn increases the sensitivity to cannabinoids. Although CBD is considered safe, it is recommended that you confer with your trusted vet (preferably a holistic vet) before you begin administering CBD to your beloved pets.

Will CBD make me high?

Many people asking this question are inquiring whether or not CBD will make them high in the same way as THC does. CBD is a non-psychoactive cannabinoid so this means that it will not cause the high that THC does. However, remember that in high doses CBD could cause subtle sedation and/or relaxation. This is the 2nd highest CBD FAQ.

What does it feel like to take CBD?

Although CBD does not cause a psychoactive high, it can adjust your mental state. Some people that use CBD report feelings of alertness and mental clarity (usually when taken in small doses) and others report a more relaxing and tranquil effect (taken in higher doses).

What is the difference between Isolate and Full Spectrum CBD oils?

CBD Isolates are oils or tinctures that contain the CBD compound as an isolated cannabinoid- and no other cannabinoids or terpenes. CBD would have been extracted from the plant without any other compounds before being made into the product. Full spectrum CBD oils contain other terpenes and cannabinoids, and not just CBD. The extraction process would be inclusive of the synergistic compounds that help to create the entourage effect. Furthermore, it is important to note that full spectrum CBD oils can contain THC. In 1998, a body of research emerged showing that cannabinoid and terpenes work together to create a more beneficial outcome.

What is CBD Isolate?

CBD isolate, or “pure CBD”, is the isolated CBD compound. It is the cannabinoid that has been separated from the rest of the compounds existing in the cannabis plant. Usually, CBD isolate will be presented as a crystalline white powder. It can be made in a lab (synthesized CBD) or can be isolated and extracted from the marijuana or hemp plant.
